Charter Fishing Maintenance- Winter Time

Although, the weather has been to cold and snowy to get out on the boat and start getting her ready to go for the spring we have still have had are hands full maintaining equipment.

Perhaps the most important part of charter fishing is to purchase reliable equipment for your passengers so they can be assured when they hook into that trophy striped bass or giant bluefin tuna that the equipment is going to stand strong. At Connemara Bay Charters we stand behind our Shimano Baitrunners, Penn Senators, and Penn International 130s. We also clean every rod and reel with fresh water and penn cleaner after each use.

If any of our bass equipment need overhauling we visit our good friends Kay and Martha up at Surfland Bait and Tackle in Marshfield. http://www.surflandbt.com/

And when it come to cleaning off and grease that has migrated onto the drag plates on our Bluefin Tuna Penn International 130s we visit Joe at Fishermen’s Outfitter in downtown Gloucester. Joe will also answer and rigging questions you have and can spool all your reels with new top shot in the time that it takes you to complete one. http://www.fishermansoutfitter.com/

The more maintenance you do now means the more time you get to focus on fishing this spring! Don’t forget to paint your lobster buoys to!
